As the wedding season for 2009 ends, we are gearing up for next year. This fall we finished our outdoor garden for Private Parties and Receptions. This beautiful new space hosts edible flowers we will be using to decorate our organic cakes and lots of vegetables for your plates. We are not using any chemicals in our garden so everything will be safe to eat. We will also be highlighting local metal artists in our garden at each event and throughout the summer. The new space will accommodate 120-150 people comfortably with plenty of space for a DJ or Live Band and dance floor.
We are using local vendors for all your party needs as well. Grand Rental Station in Apex is our tent rental company. Blossom in Pittsboro will be handling centerpieces and flower arrangements. Beyond the Pail is maintaining our luscious garden. We have several local photographers including Martha Manning and Jessica Benton. The list goes on.

Dancing at The General Store Cafe
Unbelievably, you can find some of the best dancers in Central North Carolina at the General Store Cafe. About a year ago, Shag Instructors June and Larry, approached us to see if we might be interested in having them teach lessons on Monday Nights. They had been teaching here in Pittsboro for many years and they were looking for a new home. They heard we put in a new dance floor with our expansion in April 2008 and we jumped at the idea! Shag lessons have brought new life to our Monday night business. What used to be one of our slowest nights, has turned into a really great crowd. In the month of July, June said it was the biggest class they had ever taught. It is so awesome to see the dance floor full of beginner to advanced dancers from Chatham and surrounding counties.
As a result of the shag lessons, we have developed a relationship with the Chatham Area Shag Association. We cater their monthly social on the 3rd Sunday of each month with more music, dancing, and fun. They have partnered every couple of months with other Area Shag Clubs to have a big event with a live band where they raise money for local charities. These events have brought over 100 shaggers to the General Store. If you want to see some amazing dancers, you should check these events out!
The classes were such a big hit, we decided to give them another opportunity to come out and dance. Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday nights we host a DJ for folks to come and dance & socialize. Although, the music is primarily geared towards shaggers, we encourage anyone to come. As well as fantastic music, the 2nd and 4th Tuesday offers great meal deals in the Black Bird Bar like Local, BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with chips for $5.95, $1 off Draught Beers and $5 Margarita's. So, if your looking for a night out in Pretty Little Pittsboro on a Tuesday night you don't want to miss it!
